Bohemian Carnival, the bombastic, iconoclastic, nationally acclaimed indie circus and music showcase, rises again Easter weekend following a two-year cryogenically suspended pseudo-burial. Featuring the best of local, regional and national talent, Bohemian Carnival carries on its 6-year tradition of immersive entertainment, saturating the senses with 5 hours of non-stop kaleidoscopic action, over 50 stunningly skilled beauties and barbarians, and as much decidedly adult flavorings as you can stuff into your soul. Indeed, for this resurrection, feast your eyes, ears, and whatnot on these fine, featured creatures:

PARASITES AMONG US
Imagine, if you will, a tiny creature with the ability to invade yourbody, hijack your cells, change your DNA, and modify you physically andbehaviorally to suit its own devious goals. Soundlike science fiction?Maybe, but it's also the modus operandi of the real-lifeparasitic organismsthat live among, and inside, the rest of us animals. While someparasites, in their quest forsurvival and propagation, may liveundetected in the bodies of their hosts, others can cause sickness ordeath. Some of the world's most pernicious and persistent diseases arecaused bythese supremely successful and sophisticated organisms. Butaccording to evolutionary biologists, parasites have also played asignificant role in shaping the human species includingwhy we use sexto reproduce. (Nice job, little friends!) Just when you thought it wassafe to go back in the water, Jim McKerrow returns to Ask a Scientistwith more strange and wonderful talesof parasite biology. This event ispresented in partnership withWonderfest, The Bay Area Beacon of Science.
Speaker:Jim McKerrow, Director,Center for Discovery and Innovation in Parasitic Diseases
When:Tuesday, April 2, 7pm
Location:SoMa StrEat Food Park, 428 11th Street, San Francisco. (This awesome venue has a humongous, heated, indoor seating area.)
Eats:Bring your appetites!SoMa StrEat Food Parkis San Franciscos first permanent food truck pod. They host up to tengourmet food trucksat a time, along withthe citys only beer and wine truck.

Before Y2K (2000) I started collecting significant images that represent key events and emotional reactions in the American Media. These images and words were presented by the Media and PR firms to the American people. We saw them on TV, billboards and the internet, in newspapers, magazines, and tabloids. We saw them whether we wanted to or not. These images have turned into 12 collages representing American History 2000 2012
